Round two of Concacaf World Cup qualifying wrapped up on Tuesday and featured one of the worst own goals you'll ever see at the professional level. This Haiti own goal will leave you lost for words.

The goalkeeper’s name is Josue Duverger, and he was actually having a spectacular game before the blunder. Duverger had a fantastic triple save in the first half to deny Canada from going up 2-0 on aggregate.

Even the Haitian defenders were getting in on the defensive heroics. On the stroke of halftime a goal line clearance again denied Canada.

With such heroic efforts on the defensive side, it’s a damn shame that Haiti conceded off a mistake that will be on YouTube fail compilations for years to come. To be fair though, what else did you expect from Concacaf?
It’s moments like this perplexing own goal that gives Concacaf its charm. Sure, you can watch some of the world’s greatest players from France and Germany compete in the UEFA European Championship. Perhaps your taste is more on the Copa America side of things and you enjoy watching Lionel Messi bang in ridiculous free kicks. At the end of the day, there’s nothing quite like Concacaf.
Canada went on to win the game 3-0 and advance to the final round of Concacaf World Cup qualifying. The Canadian side will be one of three teams advancing to compete against the USMNT, Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras and Jamaica in the final round.

El Salvador
Panama and El Salvador defeated their respective foes in round two and booked tickets for the octagonal. To my major disappointment, Panama held Curacao to a 0-0 draw and defeated the tiny Caribbean nation on aggregate 2-1. I had predicted Curacao to be a threat to the USMNT. I predicted wrong.
The final round of Concacaf World Cup qualifying begins in Sept. 2021.
