The art of scoring a penalty kick has evolved dramatically in the past decades. The mindgames, stutter-steps and other antics have all become key strategic points in converting or saving a spot kick. That is, unless your name is Vanja Milinković-Savić.
Napoli goalkeeper Milinković-Savić doesn’t play any games when his team summons him to the penalty spot. The 28-year-old seemingly has one objective: smash the ball as hard as humanely possible.
On Tuesday Napoli went to a penalty shootout against Como in the Coppa Italia. After a victor couldn’t be decided after five rounds, Milinković-Savić stepped up for Napoli’s sixth kick. He didn’t disappoint.

We’ve done a deep dive into the thesaurus to find words that could justly describe that penalty kick. The best we got is “homicidal” or “murderous.”
This isn’t the first time Milinković-Savić has blasted a penalty kick in the Coppa Italia this season. Back in December he was Napoli’s seventh penalty taker against Cagliari. He did what he does best.

Napoli should seriously consider putting Milinković-Savić amongst the first five penalty takers.
Como would come up victorious in Tuesday’s shootout as they advanced to their first Coppa Italia semifinal in 40 years.
