United States 2026 World Cup kit makes grand reveal… in a grocery store

Imagine shopping for beans and suddenly you see the new kit.

The 2026 United States World Cup kit has yet to officially release, however one lucky fan got to see the new home jersey in person before anyone else. This fan did so by visiting their local grocery story.

On Thursday USMNT fan Travis (who goes by usmnt historian on X) shared with the world that his local grocery store in St. Louis, Missouri, had the unreleased shirt on display.

The jersey appears to be in partnership with Michelob. It’s unclear if this sneak peek at the home World Cup kit was a planned marketing campaign from Michelob and U.S. Soccer, or if someone majorly dropped the ball.

Either way the kit has received widespread support online from American soccer fans who agree that Nike has finally produced a shirt worth buying. The look is clearly inspired by the beloved “Waldo” kit from 2012-2014.

The away jersey for the U.S. has also been spotted in select stores. The USMNT’s second kit at the World Cup will be dark blue with faded stars.

Judging from the four stars above the crest — which represent the four World Cups that the U.S. women’s national team have won — the women will also wear the new threads.

We personally at The18 are still bitter over the lackluster World Cup kits the USMNT wore at the 2022 edition. These new kits are, in our opinion, a leap in the correct direction.

Imagine how good Christian Pulisic will look in that red and white striped kit while holding the World Cup trophy. Yes, we can dream.
