Supporters Of Moroccan Team Bring Stadium Atmosphere To Fan Battling Cancer

Yesterday, fans of Moroccan side Raja Club Athletic showed the world that soccer is more than watching two teams duke it out on the field. Supporters came in droves to the home of fellow fan Mohammed Fahd Aldrafip, who has been unable to attend matches due to the severity of his cancer. The fans proceeded to sing through all the team's chants with Aldrafip conducting the whole event from a balcony above. Here’s a video of the event:

One of the most heartwarming things about this is that the fans altered the lyrics of the chants so they are not only about the club, but about Aldrafip himself, wishing that “Simo (short for Mohammed) get well soon.”

The club made a statement of the event on its official Twitter account, saying that they're proud that their “fans are amazing when they are in the stands, but they are even more amazing as human beings.”

The club wasn’t kidding about the fan support. Look at some footage of the ultras section at their games:

Here’s hoping that we will see a follow-up video with Mohammed back in the stands where he belongs sometime soon.
