It's settled. Santos Laguna are deserving champions after defeating Tigres, America and Toluca en route to a sixth Liga MX title.
Argentinian forward Julio Furch was the hero for Santos, scoring what turned out to be the title-deciding goal in the 10th minute of the second leg to quiet a rocking La Bombonera.
Toluca landed nine shots on target during a spirited fightback, but Santos goalkeeper Jonathan Orozco pulled off a number of spectacular saves to earn his club a second Clausura title in four years.
An interesting fact: Santos defender Jorge Villafana becomes just the third American to win both the MLS Cup and a Liga MX title, joining the select company of Herculez Gomez and Omar Gonzalez.
