This Is Really Happening, Messi Arrives In Paris As PSG Teases Signing

Lionel Messi waved to the Parisian crowds on Tuesday after the news officially broke that he will be joining Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year deal with an option for a third. Messi landed at Le Bourget airport to finalize the greatest transfer in European soccer history. For those asking, “what did Messi’s shirt say?” his t-shirt read: This is Paris.

Social media exploded today with top soccer reporter Fabrizio Romano announcing the transfer, Neymar posting on his Instagram that he and Messi were “back together” and PSG giving some major hints to who is joining the club.

Don’t fall for everything you see on social media. Plenty of people have been posting a video of Milwaukee Bucks fans celebrating and claiming it to be PSG fans coming to meet Messi.

The scenes in Paris are lively, just not as extreme as some fans claim it to be.

The somber mood in Barcelona is real. While Paris welcomed Messi on Tuesday, crews got to work taking down imagery of the Argentine at Camp Nou.

Ligue 1 is already underway with PSG’s next game scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. EST. Will Mauricio Pochettino sign and start Messi in the same week?
