Reyna Scores In Dortmund’s Opener As Erling Haaland Obliterates Frankfurt

Borussia Dortmund is thanking its lucky stars that Erling Haaland didn’t leave the club this summer as the Norwegian God did unspeakable things to Frankfurt during a 5-2 victory on Saturday.

Haaland was involved in all five of Dortmund’s goals bagging a brace and having a hat trick of assists.

The 21-year-old set up Marco Reus for the first goal after dribbling the ball down nearly half of and slipping it through to the Dortmund veteran.

Frankfurt went level courtesy of an own just four minutes later, but it wasn’t anything that Haaland couldn’t handle. He set up Thorgan Hazard in the 32nd minute to retake the lead.

Two minutes later Haaland got himself on the scoresheet after stealing the ball off Frankfurt defender Stefan Ilsanker. The rest was classic Erling Haaland.

USMNT forward Giovanni Reyna was the next player on Haaland’s giving list as he extended the lead in the 58th minute.

The goal was Reyna’s ninth for Dortmund. He wasn’t the only USMNT player to score in his club’s opener as Christian Pulisic also got himself a goal on Saturday.

Haaland capped off his incredible performance with another goal in the 70th minute. If there was a Norse God of goals, it would be Erling Haaland.

Please don’t let PSG get anywhere near this guy.
