Maradona In Trouble For Drunken Post Match Press Conference Tirade Against Donald Trump

After leading Dorados to the final of the 2018 Apertura, things are going just as swimmingly on the pitch for manager Diego Maradona during the Clausura half of the season. However, things are just as erratic and honestly quite concerning off it.

Dorados made a surprise run to the Clausura Copa MX quarterfinals, and the club currently sits in fourth with two matches remaining in the regular season. They’re in a fantastic position to qualify for the Liguilla, and that position was reinforced with a 3-2 victory over Tampico on Sunday.

Following the victory, a visibly tipsy Maradona immediately dedicated the performance to Nicolás Maduro, the president of Venezuela who’s been alleged with crimes against humanity, including 3,717 extrajudicial killings in the past two years.

“I want to dedicate this win to Nicolás Maduro and to all the people of Venezuela, who are suffering right now due to the actions of the world's 'sheriffs.'" Maradona said. "Those Yanks believe that they can do whatever they want because they have the largest bombs in the world. They won't do it to us! We are not worried about that puppet of a president they have."

The 58-year-old Argentine will likely be banned or fined by Liga MX authorities for his actions. The league forbids the voicing of political statements on the pitch and during press conferences.
