Cristiano Ronaldo has a new piece of silverware to add to his gargantuan trophy cabinet as Liga Portugal named him the “Best of All Time” on Wednesday.
The GOAT debate between Ronaldo and Lionel Messi continues to rage on as the two superstars show no signs of slowing, however Liga Portugal have made their decision on the greatest.
Ronaldo’s home country unsurprisingly backed their greatest-ever play and highest international goal scorer in history as the “Best of All Time.”

"An idol to millions, he defined an era and will leave an indelible mark on world football. CR7 was honored with the "Best of All Time" award, a fitting recognition for the golden pages he continues to write in his career,” Liga Portugal stated.
"Recognized for his work ethic, competitiveness, and decisiveness in crucial moments, Cristiano Ronaldo's impact goes far beyond statistics. Between individual records, collective titles, and media influence, he built a legacy that places him as... The Best Ever."
Ronaldo wasn’t present to claim the award but recorded a video thanking Liga Portugal for the title.

Liga Portugal awarding Portugal’s best player with the award feels par for the course. Could you imagine the drama and spectacle if Liga Portugal had named Messi as the winner?
Ronaldo’s “Best of All Time” award will join his five Ballon d’Ors, five Champions League titles, 2016 Euro title, two Nations Leagues triumphs and countless other honors.
Despite being 40 years old, the Al Nassr star continues to shine for club and country. On Tuesday he set a world record for the most World Cup qualifying goals of any player in history, tying Guatemala’s Carlos Ruiz with 39.
The one trophy that has eluded CR7 is the coveted World Cup. He may have one last shot at winning the World Cup next summer.
