The USMNT will play three games in the upcoming World Cup qualifying window with cold conditions expected for each. The Americans will host El Salvador in Columbus, Ohio, then take the trip to Hamilton, Ontario, and finish by hosting Honduras in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Depending on how the weather plays out, the game in Minnesota — which kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET — could be colder than the game in Hamilton.

The USA has only played in Canada twice since 2000 — once for an international friendly and the other for the Concacaf Nations League — with both games being played at BMO Field in Toronto.

This is the first time that Hamilton has hosted a major game for Canada’s men’s team. The decision to host the game at Tim Hortons Field instead of the larger BMO Field likely came down to the playing surface. BMO Field uses grass that is most likely quite dead in the middle of winter.
