Nike Honors Luka Modric With Chromed-Out Version Of Mercurial Vapor Cleats
From a boot perspective, the 2018 Ballon d’Or was won by Nike. Three of the top four finishers in voting sport the Swoosh, and Luka Modric (Mercurial Vapor XII) scooped the ultimate prize while Kylian Mbappe (Mercurial Superfly VI) nabbed the inaugural Kopa Trophy. To honor the achievements of its footballers, Nike has released a limited edition “Golden Touch” version of both boots.
The limited edition boots dropped Tuesday on Nike.com and only 1,500 pairs of each are available for purchase. The chromed-out cleats feature a thumb-print design and a black Swoosh outlined in gold — you could certainly wear these to a gala event such as the one held in Paris last night.
