Watch: Tim Howard challenges Tennessee’s women’s team to penalty shootout and gets smoked

United States goalkeeping legend Tim Howard put the gloves back on for a special showdown against his daughter Ali and the rest of the Tennessee women’s soccer team.

Howard’s last professional game was five years ago with the former USL team in Memphis. The 46-year-old goalkeeper stepped into goal against the No. 12 ranked Lady Vols with supreme confidence and some trash talk.

Little did he know what was coming.

The bet for Howard was if he could save at least four of 10 penalties from Tennessee. He would only end up stopping one with another attempt missing wide right.

Looking back at the highlights, there were several kicks that no goalkeeper in the world would save. If any team has to face Tennessee in a penalty shootout this postseason then they are in serious trouble.

Howard’s daughter Ali also managed to find the net against him. Ali is a freshman with Tennessee and plays as a forward.

It’s hard to believe it’s almost been a decade since Howard last suited up for the USMNT. We don’t need to talk about that last game for the United States though. If you know, you know.
