Kylian Mbappé Dumps Ronaldo To Highlight His 2018 Accomplishments

From playing with Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 to the World Cup with France, Kylian Mbappé had himself one helluva 2018, all before turning 20 in December.

To commemorate the end of the calendar year (at least on our antiquated Gregorian calendars), Mbappé made an awesome Instagram post highlighting many of his achievements from 2018.

By now, most everyone has seen the picture of a young Mbappé in his room looking longingly at the scores of Cristiano Ronaldo posters hung in his childhood room.

Ronaldo is a pretty good player to try to emulate the career of, considering he’s won five Champions League titles, a European Championship and five Ballon d’Ors.

But at age 20, Mbappé has already accomplished things the 33-year-old has never been able to do.

In 2018, Mbappé won a Ligue 1 title with PSG. Over the summer, he lifted the World Cup trophy, while being named the Best Young Player of the tournament. In October, Mbappé became the fourth footballer — after Lionel Messi, Neymar and Mario Balotelli — to grace the cover of Time magazine. And in December, he won the inaugural Kopa Trophy for the best player under the age of 21, managing to just beat out U.S. savior Christian Pulisic.

Ronaldo has never done any of those things.

So perhaps with that in mind, Mbappé changed the iconic photo of his younger self looking at Ronaldo to his younger self looking at himself.

 2018  2019..... HAPPY NEW YEAR

We’re not sure if Mbappé is specifically trying to troll Ronaldo for never accomplishing what Mbappé has already done by age 20 or just highlight everything he’s done, but we love it all the same.

Let’s hope your 2019 is half as good as Mbappé’s.
