Former USMNT goalkeeper, Brad Guzan, had an amazing performance in Atlanta United’s unreal away victory against Inter Miami, being perhaps the main reason why we’ll see Atlanta in the next round.
The 40-year-old had a staggering seven saves against Lionel Messi and co., with the American’s performance making its way around social media.

Guzan, saves aside, however, was also the talking point in ‘MLS Twitter’ after an intense moment with Inter Miami players, being thrown into his own net and struggling to get out of it after Lionel Messi had scored the equalizer. It was perhaps the biggest ‘challenge’ Inter Miami gave Guzan that night.

This sent fans on social media into a frenzy, with many claiming that Leonardo Campana (the player that pushed Guzan) should’ve seen a booking, with not a single Inter Miami player receiving a yellow or red card from the sequence. According to Guzan, the moment felt like something out a slow-motion movie scene.

In an interview for the Major League Journeymen Podcast, Guzan recalled the viral sequence between him and the Inter Miami squad, with the USMNT legend taking the moment in with a good sense of humor.
“At that moment, I get shoved and as I get shoved, I turn around like ‘who the hell is shoving me?' Right? So, I turn around, I fall into the net and I’m thinking ‘don’t put your arms in the net because then you’re never getting out!’
"The velcro from the gloves, you’re gonna be like face first in the net. So I’m like, alright, let me turn on my back against the net, I’m waiting now for the net to stop going backwards so I can go forward again because there’s no way I'm gonna stop myself from going backwards and I’m like 'I’m still falling?! I’m still falling?!'"
"Then I see [Luis] Suárez as I’m in the net, I see Suárez in my face like 'give it to me' and then I went to like a 15 and then I slingshot myself out of the net, into his face. It was WWE style.
"At that point, the referee makes his way over and he’s yelling at me, telling me to relax and I’m thinking ‘you’re telling me to relax?!’ Did we not just see what happened?’”
