Kolo Toure Is Scared Of Koalas, Among Other Animals

One of the great benefits of preseason tours is players get to learn more about each other and bond before the season starts.

A fantastic, and sometimes hilarious, side-effect of this is the fans get to learn more about the players too, and sometimes we learn more than we ever though we would.

The hilarity of this side-effect was on display during Liverpool's tour of Australia, when defender Kolo Toure revealed he is afraid of animals.

From the Liverpool Echo:

During the Reds’ stay in Brisbane, Toure was supposed to cuddle a koala but ended up running off in terror.

Asked about the incident, he said: “I’m not really a big fan of animals.

“It wasn’t anything against koalas. I’ve had a dog at home for seven years and I’ve never even touched it.

“I can look at animals but I can’t bring myself to touch them!”

Toure was also serenaded by Australian fans sining the Kolo/Yaya Toure song, which is great because it allows us to show this video, which we believe to be the pinnacle of human achievement in cinema.
