UEFA investigating Vinícius, Mbappé and Rüdiger for ‘indecent conduct’ vs. Atlético Madrid

Four Real Madrid players could be in trouble after UEFA announced that an ethics and disciplinary investigation is being launched for the club’s celebrations against Atlético Madrid during their Champions League Round of 16 victory.

Kylian Mbappé, Antonio Rüdiger, Dani Ceballos and Vinícius Jr. were the quartet of Madrid players that UEFA named. The investigation will be for “indecent conduct.”

UEFA Real Madrid investigation

The end of the second leg at Atlético’s Metropolitano stadium saw wild scenes of celebrations after Real Madrid won on penalties. Rüdiger scored the game-winning penalty and ran a victory lap around the field while being chased by his teammates.

Real Madrid’s squad then celebrated in front of the Atlético Madrid fans with some taunts toward their bitter rivals.

Atlético supporters threw items at the players and Mbappé responded by grabbing his crotch in front of the fans.

If UEFA punishes any of the four players with a ban then they would miss at least the first leg of the quarterfinal vs. Arsenal on April 8.
