Christian Pulisic adds one more assist in Milan’s final game to cap off incredible debut season

Christian Pulisic assisted Milan’s third goal in their 3-3 draw vs. Salernitana to add an exclamation point to his first season with the Italian giants. The 2023-24 Pulisic stats reflect a forward playing with supreme confidence.

In the 77th minute the United States men’s national team star swung in a cross that Davide Calabria flicked into the opposition’s net with a header.

Pulisic assist vs Salernitana

The moment marked Pulisic’s 25th goal contribution across all competitions. He made a total of 50 appearances this season meaning the American averaged a goal contribution every other game.

His final tally for the season saw him score 15 goals and assist 10. If you use Transfermarkt’s system for assists, then Pulisic technically had 11 assists as they count penalties won/scored as an assist. Pulisic won a penalty for Milan last week vs. Torino which Ismaël Bennacer scored.

Pulisic had the best season of any American player abroad and made quite the renaissance after last season’s disaster with Chelsea. In the 2022-23 campaign with the Blues, he scored just one goal and had two assists in 30 appearances.

USMNT fans will have high expectations for Pulisic this summer as the U.S. host Copa América and will get to face South America’s elite.

If Pulisic plays in Copa América like he did in Serie A this season, then goals are all but guaranteed.

Milan's final game of the season was meant to be a celebration as manager Stefano Pioli and Olivier Giroud got their sendoffs. Already relegated Salernitana spoiled the party with two late goals to draw 3-3.
