Goodbye Adidas, hello...
Major League Soccer is reportedly considering ending its long-standing league-wide sponsorship deal with Adidas in 2030, signaling the potential end of a 26-year partnership between the American soccer league and the German sportswear giant.

Since 2004, Adidas has been the official kit supplier for MLS, providing uniforms for all teams across the league. However, as the league approaches the next decade, and with the landscape of global soccer sponsorships evolving, MLS may be ready to explore new opportunities.
One potential option could be Nike, who already has a prominent presence in American sports, including as the sponsor of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
The end of the Adidas deal could also pave the way for a more fragmented approach to sponsorship, with each of MLS's 30 clubs seeking their own kit deals. This model is already common in top European leagues like the English Premier League, where clubs individually negotiate contracts with brands such as Puma, Nike, and Adidas.
If MLS moves in this direction, it could lead to more diverse and potentially lucrative deals for clubs, each with the ability to tailor their partnerships to fit their own brand identity.
Major League Soccer signed six-year extension of its league-wide kit supplier partnership with Adidas in 2023, which was reportedly worth $830 million.
