A world champion freestyler shares how peanuts keep her moves extra smooth

Freestyle world champion Caitlyn Schrepfer has some of the most unique soccer skills on the planet. The California native is smoother than creamy peanut butter as she’s turned her tricks with the ball into an art.

Schrepfer is one of the most talented freestylers today, named a world champion in 2022 and a four-time United States women’s champion. What she’s able to do with a ball appears to defy physics as she dazzles audiences around the world with her moves.

Some of her stuff must be seen to be believed.

Schrepfer’s unbelievable skills come from hours upon hours of training. She originally began her soccer journey between the posts as a goalkeeper. A hip injury altered her soccer path, but ultimately led her to becoming one of the greatest and most popular freestylers in the world.

She suffered the hip injury when she was 16 and for three months Schrepfer struggled to walk, run or even kick the ball. There was one activity she could perform… juggling.

From that moment a spark was lit and her career as a professional freestyler was born.

What goes on behind-the-scenes separates the upper echelon of freestylers as Schrepfer puts three-to-six hours of work in on a daily basis to perfect her craft.

Like any professional athlete, recovery is a necessity for Schrepfer and peanuts are a source of protein and healthy fats she can count on.

Peanuts have more protein than any nut (7g per serving), and contain more than 30 essential vitamins and minerals.

“I tend to put my body through the ringer every day,” Schrepfer said. “One of my favorite snacks to help me recover is a peanut butter protein smoothie.”

Here are the details behind the “Schrepfer Smoothie.”
