Marta Turns 35 And Still Remains The GOAT

Marta is a legend who is just as good as she was in her youth.

Brazilian legend Marta turned 35 on Feb. 19 and she still proves to be one of the best in the world. She has the most goals in FIFA World Cup history, she is a six-time World Player of the Year and she is Brazil’s all-time top goal scorer, not to mention she just re-signed for the 2021 season with the Orlando Pride and received her green card so she no longer needs an international roster spot. As a player who many young players look up to, the day she decides to hang up her boots will certainly be a sad one.

Marta is definitely one of my favorite female players by far. Her technical ability, her understanding of the game and the way she is able to turn nothing into something is truly admirable and makes her a top-tier player. She always finds a way to put the ball in the back of the net and be that game changer that Brazil and Orlando Pride need in matches. Marta is just as good as she was when she was a teenager and she proved that as she kicked off the 2021 SheBelieves Cup with the first goal of the tournament in a 4-1 win over Argentina. Hopefully she has a few more years in her because the game will definitely not be the same when she is gone.

Let us enjoy her play and top-notch goals while we can and appreciate her greatness by looking back at some of her greatest moments.
