The Premier League 2024-25 season is already off to a hot start, with Erling Haaland taking revenge on Marc Cucurella's Euro chants just minutes into their first versus.

Watch: Haaland gets revenge on Cucurella’s Euro chants; bodies Spaniard off to score first PL goal

Chelsea and Manchester City faced off in the opening match day of the new Premier League season, with many fans anticipating the matchup between Chelsea’s Cucurella and City’s Haaland. And the people got what they wanted.

At just the 18th minute of the game, a ball into the box to Haaland, taken into space by the No. 9 while bodying Cucurella off the ball, opened the scoring of the game. Like clock work for the Manchester City striker.

This sent social media into a frenzy, with practically every shot of Haaland’s opening Premier League goal featuring Cucurella in the background, foreshadowing the Spaniard’s Euro 2024 chant that made fun of the Norwegian.

Cucurella got a premium first class view to Haaland's first of the season.

During Spain’s Euro celebrations, a very “happy” Cucurella was repeatedly seen singing a chant that mentioned the Manchester City player, saying Haaland “trembles” every time he sees Cucurella coming.

“Haaland, you’d better tremble, as Cucurella is coming…” said part of the chant.

This, as expected, would come around to haunt Cucurella at just their first meeting, with City handing Chelsea a 2-0 loss at home (Haaland goal included) and the defender coming off due to fatigue in the 80th minute.

Chelsea is not Spain, Marc.
