Where does Diego Maradona go from here?
The legendary Argentinian has called an end to his coaching career in Mexico, ending his time with Los Dorados de Sinaloa.
The second division side has had Maradona as head coach since 2018 and while they have had a roller coaster ride of a time with the Argentina legend, he will surely be missed.
Maradona’s time in Mexico was arguably successful, leading Los Dorados to two finals in his two seasons in charge of the team.
Exclaiming that he nearly died this most recent time out due to narrowingly missing out on the championship.
Los Dorados would lose the chance for promotion to Liga MX by failing to beat Atletico San Luis who scored in extra time in their match back in May.
Maradona won’t be able to build off of his success in Mexico due to health concerns and won’t be back to managing any time soon.
The enigmatic legend has left quite a mark on the world of soccer with his 1986 World Cup win and his time with Napoli.
His initial journey in the soccer world is being showcased in a new documentary called Diego Maradona.
"Diego!" Wrote Dorados president Antonio Nunez. "The doors at Dorados will always be open for you. Your health comes first; your home is here and will be here."
I wonder if we’ll get to see Maradona back in a coaching role anytime soon.
