Is he a nepo baby or the real deal? David Beckham's son Romeo joins Brentford

A Beckham is ready to start writing a new story in English football.

Romeo, son of the legendary David Beckham, joined Brentford on a six-month loan from Inter Miami.

Brentford announced the news on its social platforms, confirming that Romeo will not be on the Premier League squad but on the Bee's reserve team. The club also clarified that the 20-year-old midfielder has been training with them since the end of the MLS Next Pro season and impressed the coaches enough to make the move.

"We've been absolutely delighted with Romeo since he arrived with us," said Brentford reserve team coach Neil MacFarlane. "He's been able to get fitter and fitter with us, and it leaves him in a good place to now step forward, having joined us on loan."

Of course, the move has left fans wondering if Romeo Beckham has the talent to succeed in the soccer world or if this chance is only a product of him being another case of a nepo baby due to his father's connections.

Let's not forget that David Beckham is one of the owners of Inter Miami.

But to be fair to Romeo, his numbers are not bad at all. Playing for Inter Miami II in 2022, he got a league-high of 10 assists and scored two goals, including a free-kick that will put the older fellows in memory lane.

"I'm very proud and very happy to be here," said Romeo Beckham after Brentford's announcement. "I came here at the start to keep fit during the off-season. The chance then came to come on loan here and I've never been so excited."

Romeo's stint in Brentford will not be his first in English football. Previously, he spent a year in Arsenal's Academy at the age of 13.
