Christian Pulisic and Tim Weah call out ‘evil’ former USMNT players for criticizing current squad

United States men’s national team stars Christian Pulisic and Timothy Weah reignited the flames of drama between the current U.S. squad and the old guard during the latest episode of the “PULISIC” documentary.

Pulisic, his father Mark and Weah called out the “evil” pundits like Landon Donovan, Tim Howard, Alexi Lalas and Eric Wynalda who have been vocal in their disapproval of USMNT results lately.

Pulisic Weah drama with former USMNT players

Mark Pulisic, Christian’s father, took a serious shot at the former players at the end of the video.

“They should look in the mirror and look at their last performances for the national team before they start talking shit,” Christian Pulisic’s father said.

Meanwhile Weah said he has respect for the former legends, but still said they were “evil” for criticizing the current team.

“I think those guys are chasing checks,” Weah said. “And for me, I just feel like they're really evil, honestly, because they've been players and they know it's like when you're getting bashed and those are the same guys, that'll turn around and shake your hand and try to be friendly with you at the end of the day.”

The situation only got exacerbated with another clip of Pulisic explaining why he chose not to participate in the 2025 Gold Cup.

He ends the video saying, "I think everyone has disrespected me in a lot of ways and have completely forgotten about what I've done for this national team for 10 years. It sucks."

The clips posted by CBS hasn’t sat well with the USMNT fandom as a litany of supporters have called out Pulisic and Weah for their “soft mentality.”

In the past year the USMNT have been eliminated in the group stage of Copa América, eliminated by Panama in the Concacaf Nations League and lost to Mexico in the Gold Cup final.
