All Signs Point Toward Liverpool Battering Real Madrid In Kiev

Liverpool booked their ticket to the 2018 Champions League Final against Real Madrid on Wednesday with a 7-6 aggregate win over Roma. Now that the semifinals are over, all the attention now shifts to the final in Kiev, and rightly so. But have Liverpool already won the match before it’s even started? Here’s why that might be the case.

When Liverpool have won the Champions League, they've worn their red kit and beaten a team playing in white. Guess what kit each team will be wearing in the final?

Funnily enough, Liverpool were the last team to beat Real Madrid in a Champions League final. That was way back in 1981, when Liverpool won 1-0.

But wait, there’s more! A royal wedding took place in 1981, and thanks to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, there will be another one this year.

The Champions League semifinals in 1981 also featured teams from England, Germany, Italy and Spain. Surprise surprise, that’s exactly what happened in this year’s Champions League semis.

If you thought there were enough omens for Liverpool already, there’s still one more. In 1958, Real Madrid won the Champions League, in 1968 it was Manchester United and in 1978 Liverpool won. If you hit the fast forward button, Real Madrid won in 1998, Manchester United won in 2008 and . . . could it happen?

It’s certainly crazy to think about how many strange scenarios are all pointing to Liverpool winning the Champions League this season. But soccer is a crazy sport, and a team that couldn’t get past Stoke City at Anfield now has a chance to beat Los Blancos.

Bonus Omen: UEFA's website has already declared Liverpool the winners!
