Football Reference (Fbref.com) released their 2024 statistics for the most-viewed soccer team pages by state and it’s evident that a Gooner takeover has happened.
American soccer fans were most interested in five Premier League teams, several local Major League Soccer clubs and three National Women’s Soccer League teams. The one outlier was West Virginia who loved Real Madrid in 2024.
Last year Arsenal were the most-viewed club in 11 states and D.C. This time around Arsenal dominated the map with 28 STATES. Arsenal would’ve won the electoral college with this map.

Plenty of credit must go to the local fans in Washington, Oregon, Utah, Minnesota, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Georgia and D.C. as they supported their local MLS or NWSL team. You love to see it. New Hampshire was all in on the Philadelphia Union as well.

Football Reference also shares the most-viewed player pages by state. In 2023 Lionel Messi did a full sweep of all 50 states and D.C.
In 2024 the story was different with Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo dominating, but a few surprises were sprinkled in. The people of Oklahoma love them some DaMarcus Beasley.
Fans online had plenty of fun with the random inclusions of Francesco Totti in Hawaii and Aaron Cresswell in Pennsylvania.
