Haaland And Now Pulisic: Everybody Wants To Play Against Club América

América will have a busy summer with world-class friendlies. A few days ago, the Mexican club announced a game against Manchester City — in which we might see Erling Haaland wearing the sky blue jersey for the first time — and now we can confirm they will also be playing against Chelsea.

The América vs. Chelsea game will be part of the FC Series and will relive the rivalry between Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa and American forward Christian Pulisic now at the club level. The Man in the Mirror Derby? Sure, why not.

You don't remember the story? No worries.

Last November, before a World Cup qualifying  game between El Tri and the USMNT, Guillermo Ochoa said "Mexico is the mirror in which the United States wants to see itself." The U.S. won the game 2-0, and Pulisic scored one of the goals, which he celebrated with a stinging message written on his undershirt: "Man in the mirror." Of course.

Where and when is the América vs. Chelsea game?

The clash between the Liga MX and the Premier League teams has been scheduled for Saturday, July 16, at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Time TBD.

Tickets go on sale Thursday, May 19, at 1 p.m. ET on Ticketmaster.

TV rights? The info hasn't been revealed, but considering the links between América and Televisa, it would not be hard to imagine the game being broadcast by TUDN USA.

América vs. Chelsea will not be the only game in the FC Series. Other matches are:

  • Wednesday, July 20: Orlando City vs. Arsenal FC at Exploria Stadium, Orlando
  • Wednesday, July 20: Charlotte FC vs. Chelsea FC at Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte
  • Saturday, July 23: Arsenal FC vs. Chelsea FC at Camping World Stadium, Orlando
