The Lamine Yamal goal vs France during Spain’s 2-1 Euro semifinal victory is a moment that will be discussed for decades to come.
Yamal has been setting records left and right during this Euros campaign and found the back of the net for the first time on Tuesday. The 16-year-old is now the youngest player in history to score at the Euros.

Yamal’s goal comes just days after it was discovered that the legendary Lionel Messi had bathed the youngster during a Barcelona charity calendar photoshoot back in 2007. This feels straight out of a fairy tale.

The sensational goal was the highlight of an exhilarating first half. Arguably the most entertaining 45 minutes of Euro 2024 so far.
France, who had failed to have a player score a goal in open play in their previous six games, did the unthinkable and opened the scoring less than 10 minutes into the contest. Kylian Mbappé put it on a plate for Randal Kolo Muani to head home at the back post.

Yamal’s world class equalizer came 12 minutes later. Spain weren’t done yet as Dani Olmo put the Spanish in front just moments after the Yamal goal.

The riveting opening 45 minutes was followed by a stellar defensive performance from Spain as they sat on their lead a rarely ventured forward. Spain’s first shot of the second half didn’t come until after the 80th minute as Yamal nearly recreated his first goal.
