Today's UCL match-up between Tottenham and Bayer Leverkusen ended a 0-0 draw even though both teams were able to produce some excellent opportunities. However, Tottenham's Hugo Lloris and Leverkusen's Bernd Leno both put on a masterclass clinic in goalkeeping to hold the opposition scoreless by the end of the game.
After a poorly defended cross, Lloris made an outstanding goal-line stop to deny what would have been a tap-in for Javier Hernandez. He then made an excellent diving save off an Aranguiz free-kick and had a very similar stop against Mehmedi which he expertly pushed wide and out of play.(not featured in this video).
For his part, Leno superbly tipped an acrobatic volley from Erik Lamela over the cross-bar right after Vincent Janssen's header rattled off the wood work. It's rather difficut to see in the video, but Leno may have gotten a touch on Janssen's header which would have a made it an even more impressive double save. For this writer and former GK, we'll give him the credit for the double save.
