5 Upsets That Hillary Clinton Can Relate To

Hillary Clinton Probably Thought She Had This Election In The Bag. Here's a video of 5 teams who probably thought the same thing. Boy were they wrong.

News outlets, political pundits and the Hillary Clinton Campaign itself all thought they had this election in the bag. It was almost inconceivable for them to lose to one of the most inexperienced and disliked candidates of all time. Man oh man, how wrong they were Tuesday night as Trump steadily climbed to the 270 electoral vote count that won him the presidency. There were exceedingly few experts who actually believed Donald Trump had a chance, but these experts probably aren't soccer fans. If they were, they would know that come-from-behind wins are almost always a possiblity. Here's a video of 5 of the most unlikely combacks in the history of soccer. We bet Hillary can relate to the bitter dissapointment some of these teams and fans probably felt.

The first comeback depicted is from the 2012 Capital One Cup between Arsenal and Reading. Reading was up 4-0 at the break, but Arsenal was able to put forth an incredible 2nd half effort to tie the game at 4-4 going into extra time. They went on to win 5-4 on penalites and advanced to quaterfinals of the cup that year.

Just 4 days after the Arsenal-Reading upset the soccer world witnessed yet another incredible comeback for the books. In a World Cup Qualifying match against Germany, Germany thought they were going to cost to  4-0 victory with only 28 mins left of play. However, 28 mins of play was all that was needed for Sweden to tie the game at 4-4 and advanced out of their qualification group.

The  third in-game upset also came from a 2012 match between Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers. It was the last game of the Premier League season and Man City needed to win in order to snatch the title from the current league leader, Manchester United. With 25 mins left in the game, The Citizens were trailing 2-1 against a 10 man QPR side. At the end of 90 mins the scoreline remained the same, but the ref allotted five minutes of extra time, enough for Edin Dzeko to tie the game. Shortly after his goal, Sergio Aguero found the net one last time to win the game and the Premier League Title for City.

The fourth installement of the compilation video is from the 1999 Champions League match between Manchester United and Bayern Munich. Bayern Munich found themselve up 1-0 for almost all 90 minutes, but extra time goals from Ryan Giggs and Ole Gunnar Solkjaer lifted Manchester United to a 2-1 victory and Champions League Title.

The final upset from the video is another Champions League Final in which Liverpool managed to pull off 3-0 comeback against AC Milan. Leading 3-0 at half AC Milan somhow let Liverpool tie the game with 6 minutes left of regular play. Liverpool went on to win the final 3-2 in a penality shootout.
