Mexico head coach Javier Aguirre ended his side’s 2-0 defeat to Honduras on Friday with blood gushing from his head after being struck by a beer can.
The Honduras fans inside the Estadio Francisco Morazán took the “hostile environment” too far with disgraceful scenes at the full time whistle with objects being thrown on the field and at Aguirre.
Aguirre took a direct hit to the head and started bleeding heavily. Despite being hit, the 65-year-old hardly look bothered by the incident and continued to shake hands with the opposing players and coaches.

We’re used to watching players roll around on the ground for five minutes after being tapped on the ankle. Watching Aguirre take that missile to the head like a champ is remarkable.
Even in the postgame interviews he was completely unbothered by the injury.
"This is football, and there's no point in mentioning the other stuff because I'm not one to complain," Aguirre said.
Concacaf released a statement about the controversial moment and is investigating.
"The security of the teams and fans is a priority for Concacaf. These types of violent behaviors have no place in football. The incident will now be referred to the Concacaf Disciplinary Committee for further review and investigation,” Concacaf stated.
Mexico and Honduras will face off again in the second leg of the Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals on Tuesday at the Estadio Nemesio Díez in Toluca, Mexico. It will be interesting to see what kind of reception awaits Aguirre and his team.
El Tri find themselves in the exact same position as last year when they faced Honduras in the quarterfinals and lost the first leg 2-0. Last year Mexico won the second leg 2-0 before winning on penalties.
