Soccer buzzer beater! Watch Texas Tech score game-winner vs. Texas as clock hits 0:00

Texas Tech women’s soccer team, ranked No. 25 in the country, had a wild 2-1 win vs. No. 14 Texas when they scored in the literal last second of the game. The Texas Tech goal vs Texas is as dramatic as it gets.

College soccer works differently than the professional games you might watch. In college there’s no stoppage time as the clock is paused when play stops. That also means that when the clock hits 0:00 the half/game is over right then and there.

On Thursday Texas Tech had an opportunity at the end of the game. The clock was paused with four seconds left and the scored tied at 1-1. The Red Raiders had a set piece to make something happen.

Defender and redshirt sophomore Macy Blackburn stood over the ball for the free kick. It was too far out for a shot so instead she delivered a beautiful ball into the box that captain Hannah Anderson rose the highest for.

Texas Tech goal vs Texas

Tech scored with literally no time to spare.

Texas was on a 19-game unbeaten streak vs. Big 12 opponents that spanned all the way back to November 2020 prior to Thursday night.

What a way to end a game!

I'm not sure who's in charge of the Texas Tech social media accounts, but they did my favorite thing and added the music from "Titanic" to the video of the goal. Hell yeah.
