Megan Rapinoe’s Olympic Olimpico Snubbed From USWNT Goal Of The Year

The first 2021 award winner for the USWNT was revealed on Tuesday morning with the Goal of the Year being announced. The USWNT Goal of the Year 2021 nominees included a list of sensational goals. Here’s a quick refresher on what fans could vote for.

USWNT Goal of the Year 2021 Winner:

Christen Press’ goal against Brazil in the SheBelieves Cup.

I suppose there can’t be a snub considering this was a public voting system, but how Megan Rapinoe’s Olimpico goal didn’t win is beyond me.

This goal is far and away the most audacious and stunning goal on the list, but the people have spoken and chosen Press. My best guess is that many fans were outraged when Press wasn’t included in the 2021 Female Player of the Year nominee list and voting for her goal was a form of justice.

Voting for Female Player of the Year and Young Female Player of the Year closed on Sunday. Those results will be revealed in the near future.

If you’re itching to vote and missed out on voting for the USWNT, the USMNT opened its voting for Goal of the Year on Tuesday.
