Tim Howard on Luis Suárez: ‘How has this guy not had his nose rearranged?’

As of Thursday, Sept. 4, Major League Soccer has yet to announce a punishment for Luis Suárez after he spat in the face of a Seattle Sounders security member following the Leagues Cup final on Sunday.

A Tim Howard Luis Suárez podcast clip saw the American inquire about why the Uruguayan hasn’t faced a more immediate… and physical consequences for his litany of shocking moments on the field.

Former U.S. goalkeeper Howard said on the latest episode of “Unfiltered Soccer” with Landon Donovan that he’s stunned that no one has just beaten up Suárez at this point.

The Inter Miami forward now has an incident list of biting three players, spitting on a Seattle Sounders security member and racially abusing former Manchester United left back Patrice Evra.

As much as we’d love to see someone put Suárez’s head in the dirt, it’s imperative that Major League Soccer doesn’t let him get away with the spitting incident.

Previous incidents in MLS involving spitting have seen players hit with a three-game ban. Inter Miami’s next game isn’t until Sept. 13 for a road trip to face Charlotte FC.

Hopefully MLS steps in and punishes Suárez before then.
