New England Revolution Crush Pumas UNAM In The Snow At Gillette Stadium

Sebastian Lletget opened the scoring in the first half and Adam Buksa added two second-half goals as the New England Revolution routed Mexico's Pumas 3-0 on Wednesday in Foxborough, Mass., in the first leg of a CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal series.

The second leg of the total-goal series is scheduled for March 16 in Mexico City.

Lletget completed a counterattack goal in the 19th minute when he tapped in the ball off a pass from Carles Gil. Buksa doubled the advantage in the 72nd minute. After his initial effort in the box was saved by Pumas goalie Alfredo Talavera, he curled a left-footed shot inside the near post. In second-half stoppage time, Buksa fired in a shot from the right side.

Cruz Azul 1, CF Montreal 0

Uriel Antuna's 20th-minute goal gave the Liga MX team a victory at Mexico City in the opening leg of a CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals series.

Adrián Aldrete's long diagonal pass from his own half saw players from both teams compete to head the ball 40 yards from the Montreal goal. The ball fell to Antuna wide open racing in from the right side. Antuna went in one-on-one with Montreal goalie Sebastian Breza and fired home a 12-yard shot. The visitors never put a shot on target against Cruz Azul goalie José Corona, while Breza was credited with one save.

The series' second leg is scheduled for March 16 in Montreal.
