The One Guy Who Wasn’t Impressed By Man City’s 5 Goals In 18 Minutes

We all knew it was coming.

After Norwich City upset Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City last week, there was never any doubt Watford would be on the end of a spanking at the Etihad on Saturday.

But this was all a bit much.

Six different Man City players scored as the Citizens curb stomped Watford 8-0 on Saturday, including an absurd five goals in the game’s first 18 minutes. It was the club’s biggest Premier League victory ever, showing that City’s so-called defensive crisis doesn’t mean anything when you are so damn good going forward.

One club, however, was not impressed.

Bayern Munich thinks City’s five goals in 18 minutes ain’t shit.

Admittedly, whoever runs that Bayern U.S. account has a point. Who can forget the time Robert Lewandowski scored five goals in nine minutes against Wolfsburg in 2015? It was insanity.

Of course, Bayern was feeling a bit bullish as it beat Cologne 4-0 on Saturday to, at least briefly, go top of the Bundesliga. City is still two points back of Liverpool, which has a game in hand. But City did improve its goal differential to plus-18, seven more than Liverpool, while banishing Watford to dead last with a minus-14 goal differential.

Lewandowski had himself a day as well, scoring two goals. He would’ve had a hat trick had he not allowed Philippe Coutinho to take a penalty kick so the former Liverpool man could score his first goal with Bayern.

Anyway, five goals in 18 minutes is impressive for anyone that isn’t Robert Lewandowski, so enjoy the Man City vs Watford highlights below (stick around for all eight because the last one was the best). Meanwhile, Arsenal fans are just hoping no one mentions the 8-2 thrashing it suffered at Manchester United in 2011.
