Major League Soccer has 19 of the 50 most valuable clubs in the world

It’s called soccer, world.

Major League Soccer has made a significant jump on the global soccer landscape in terms of value, with 19 of its clubs featured in Sportico's most-recent list of the world's 50 most valuable soccer teams

This achievement positions MLS as the league with the highest representation on the list, surpassing traditional European powerhouses like the Premier League and La Liga.

Leading the MLS contingent is Los Angeles FC (LAFC) valued at $1.28 billion, placing them 16th overall. Following closely are Inter Miami CF ($1.19 billion, 17th), LA Galaxy ($1.11 billion, 18th), Atlanta United ($1.08 billion, 19th), and New York City FC ($1 billion, 20th).

To derive the enterprise value of the world’s leading soccer clubs, Sportico "calculated each team’s revenue, relying on publicly available financial statements, Deloitte’s Football Money League publication, figures compiled by soccer finance expert Kieron O’Connor" and their own estimates in cases where detailed information was not available.

For MLS, Sportico used their previous valuations published in January - including real estate and related businesses.

MLS was also recently named as a top ten league in the world, ranked above leagues such as the English Championship and Dutch Eredivisie.
