Zlatan Ibrahimovic praises Christian Pulisic and says he’s become 'Milan’s Captain America'

Soccer legend and senior AC Milan advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave United States men’s national team star Christian Pulisic tons of praise in a recent interview with the UEFA Champions League magazine.

The Ibrahimovic Pulisic comments saw the Swedish icon compliment the American soccer star on his incredible form with the Italian club.

Pulisic is in his second season with Milan and is by far in the best form of his career. The 26-year-old forward has 12 goal contributions (seven goals, five assists) in just 15 games for Milan across all competitions this season.

He’s arguably Milan’s best player.

Ibrahimovic Pulisic comments

Ibrahimovic said that Pulisic has become the Rossoneri’s hero.

“I think Christian is our 'Captain America.' He’s doing extraordinary things,” Ibrahimovic said. “You can see he’s happy; being at Milan makes every player happy. This isn’t just my opinion; every player would tell you the same."

Pulisic came to Milan after a rather miserable final year with Chelsea as he scored just one goal in 30 appearances. He was often benched, injured, booed or played out of positions with the Blues, but has found new life in Italy.

A video was recently posted of Pulisic golfing with friends and commenting on how much he’s loving life in Milan.

Ibrahimovic said that the club provides an atmosphere for players to thrive much like what has been seen with Pulisic.

“They (Milan) have an optimal environment to focus only on football and performance on the field. We revitalized him, and now you can see he’s really happy on the field, and that’s why he’s performing at a high level. Even off the field, he’s key for us."

Pulisic’s next two games will be with the USMNT as they face Jamaica in the quarterfinals of the Concacaf Nations League on Nov. 14 and Nov. 18.

After that Milan have a massive clash with Juventus on Nov. 23 which will see Pulisic face off against fellow Americans Weston McKennie and Timothy Weah.
