List Of USWNT Players Becoming Mothers Continues To Grow — Allie Long Is Expecting Twins

Long will become a mother of two with her boyfriend, Casey Cordial, and the twins are expected to be born in June.

For those out of the loop, Long announced in January 2022 that she had separated with her husband Jose Batista.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Long revealed that she didn’t realize she was pregnant and played nine weeks of the 2021 NWSL season without knowing she was carrying twins. Despite her season coming to a quick end, she says she's still thrilled about the twins.

"I've always dreamed of being a mom," Long said. "I think as an athlete, you're always playing for yourself in a way and your team, but I'm excited to kind of be in the position where I'm playing for my family and them, and a different perspective on life."

Long joins a growing list of USWNT players who are pregnant or have become mothers. Julie Ertz and Crystal Dunn announced their pregnancies this year and Alex Morgan, who gave birth in May 2020, has been offering Long advice.

"Alex has been someone that I'll text about everything," Long said. "I've asked her for a lot of advice so far, and I think I use her like someone that's been helping me guide through this."

With Long expected to give birth in June, she will likely miss the 2022 season with Gotham FC. The 34-year-old made the move across the country from OL Reign to Gotham in April 2021.

Long hasn’t featured for the USWNT in several years, but the midfielder’s 51 appearances, eight goals and 2019 Women's World Cup title with the national team are still fondly remembered.
