The January transfer window has come and gone, so now we're going to look at nine transfers that took place in January that could affect the table during the remainder of the season.
1. Philippe Coutinho: Liverpool to Barcelona
Coutinho's ability to mesh with his new teammates will be critical for keeping Barcelona ahead of the pack.
2. Diego Costa: Chelsea to Atletico Madrid
Costa's goalscoring abilities will be critical for keeping Atletico Madrid within striking distance of Barcelona.
3. Aymeric Laporte: Athletic Bilbao to Manchester City
Can Athletic Bilbao replace the second-most-expensive defender in the world on the fly?
4. Carlos Vela: Real Sociedad to Los Angeles FC
Real Sociedad lost their most dynamic option off the bench.
5. Miguel Layun: Porto to Sevilla (loan)
Sevilla gained a lot of squad depth with the addition of the versatile Layun, who can play either fullback position and defensive midfield.
6. Marc Bartra: Borussia Dortmund to Real Betis

7. Inigo Martinez: Real Sociedad to Athletic Bilbao
Bilbao bought their Laporte replacement from the only club they can really spend money with, on account of their "Basque players only" policy.
8. Cedric Bakambu: Villarreal to Beijing Guoan
Villarreal sold one of their most dangerous attacking options to China, where he still hasn't been officially signed, ostensibly for tax reasons.
9. Francis Coquelin: Arsenal to Valencia
A competent defensive midfielder could make all the difference in the race for the Champions League.
