World Cup Predictions For The Final Match Day Of The Group Stage

How time flies when you're having fun. Thursday is the last day of the group stage, which means Groups H and G are in action! Group G is already wrapped up. England and Belgium have already advanced but will need to duke it out for the honor of winning the group (let's be honest, you don't want to win the group with the way the bracket is looking). Group H on the other hand sees Japan, Colombia and Senegal vying for the last two spots. Japan gets to play a Poland side that has looked horrendous and Los Cafeteros will look to build off of a convincing 3-0 victory over Poland when they take on Senegal.

Check out all the World Cup knockout stage possibilities here.

Here are the picks from Connor Fleming (@conmanfleming), Bryce Badwan (@bbadss) and Travis Yoesting (@travisyoesting).

World Cup Predictions

World Cup Predictions June 28

Japan vs Poland

Connor: Japan - Poland's just been awful and really shouldn't ruin the dreams of another country at this point.

Bryce: Japan - I said it before the Colombia match and I'll say it again. Poland are trash and posers of the World Cup. Japan have too much to play for to let them spoil their World Cup.

Travis: Draw - Poland is too good to finish without a point at this World Cup. I think Robert Lewandowski gets a goal and Poland nicks either a draw or a win.

Colombia vs Senegal

Connor: Colombia - Despite going down to 10 men in the third minute, Colombia looked good against Japan; they looked great against Poland. I sense big things.

Bryce: Colombia - Colombia found their dancing boots and I think will be too much for Senegal. Which sucks, because I like Senegal.

Travis: Colombia - After the way Colombia dismantled Poland in the second half, you can't go against Los Cafeteros. Hopefully this match has a lot of goals from both sides, because these are the two best dancing teams in the tournament.

Tunisia and Panama

Connor: Tunisia - I don’t know.

Bryce: Tunisia - Battle of two eliminated teams. I'm just going with Tunisia because they at least showed something this tournament (vs England).

Travis: Draw - Tunisia will come out on the front foot but Panama will rally for a late equalizer. Not that anyone will be watching.

Belgium vs England

Connor: England - My pick here is predicated on the rumor that Roberto Martinez could make up to 10 changes to his side. Also, Harry Kane is reportedly starting for England. England's continuity beats a new Belgium team.

Bryce: England - You really don't want to win this group which is exactly why England will win it. Too much pride on the Three Lions side and winning the Group is too great an honor to pass up.

Travis: England - Both teams probably want to finish second in Group G because that would put them on the (presumably) easier side of the bracket. I expect Belgium to rest more regulars and England to accidentally win.
