Go Inside Liverpool’s Emotional Locker Room After Epic Comeback Against Barcelona

What’s it like in the locker room after you pull off one of the greatest comeback wins in the history of a storied club? Thanks to the club’s media team, we have behind-the-scenes footage of the Liverpool locker room after beating Barcelona on Tuesday night.

Liverpool overcame adversity of all kinds to pull off an epic rally with a 4-0 win on Tuesday, advancing to the Champions League final 4-3 on aggregate. Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum scored twice apiece and Alisson Becker was stellar in goal to propel the Reds to their second straight final.

Also for the second year in a row, Barcelona suffered a shocking defeat on the road in the Champions League, losing a massive lead in the second leg to bow out of the competition.

After the match, emotions were high for players on both teams.

In the Barcelona locker room, Lionel Messi was reportedly in tears after promising his fans he’d bring home the Champions League trophy for the first time since 2015. Last year, AS Roma overcame a 4-1 first-leg deficit to advance 4-4 on away goals over Barça in the UCL quarterfinals.

In the Liverpool locker room, Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose heads-up early corner kick to Origi won the match for the Reds, was also on the verge of tears, fighting back emotions after accomplishing what few outside of Anfield thought could be done.

The Liverpool locker room also saw a joyous Mohamed Salah in his now-famous “Never Give Up” T-shirt, Bobby Firmino’s magnificent pearly whites and Rhian Brewster singing along to the tunes.

Liverpool will play either Ajax or Tottenham in the Champions League final on June 1 at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid.
