EPL Fans Deeply Disturbed By Strange White Markings On Pitch During Tottenham vs. Man City

Having watched Minnesota United on the turf field at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis for the last two years — often complete with the white football field markings and the giant University of Minnesota “M” at the center — I could only laugh at those with any vested interest in a crucial Premier League encounter between Tottenham and Manchester City today.

While some will blame the NFL game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Philadelphia Eagles which took place yesterday afternoon, the truth is that the fault lies entirely at the feet of Spurs brass, whose New White Hart Lane project has fallen desperately behind schedule.

Spurs lost the match 1-0 with Riyad Mahrez registering the game’s lone goal in the sixth minute.

While Erik Lamela missed a glorious chance to equalize for Spurs in the 80th minute. Yes, the ball did slightly bobble on the awful pitch.

But let’s go to the Twitter jokes, and you’ll get the gist of them very quickly.

Keep going, everyone. Keep pushing the boundaries. We’re on to something here.
