Barcelona Is Back: This 2022-23 Potential Starting XI Could Win LaLiga And More

Barcelona is scary again. Former player now manager Xavi corrected course for the Catalan club last season and now has the roster to go for titles. The potential Barcelona starting XI 2022-23 lineup is not only filthy, but has incredible depth.

Barcelona has added new players to the defense, midfield and attack during the summer transfer window. The colossal addition of Robert Lewandowski attracts the most attention but don’t let it distract you from the other new faces joining Barcelona.

Here’s what Xavi could let loose against LaLiga next season if everyone is healthy.

Potential Barcelona Starting XI 2022-23

This could be the Barcelona starting XI next season.

Let’s work from the bottom up. In goal is Marc-André ter Stegen who doesn’t show any signs of going anywhere. His defense has been bolstered with the free signing of Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen.

The latest addition to Barcelona's squad is Sevilla's Jules Koundé. Barcelona and Chelsea were in a race to sign the center back, but in the end the Catalan club came out victorious.

As for Christensen, the Danish center back was a force for Chelsea and should make the Barça defense firmer. He might not be the only Blue coming to Spotify Camp Nou as César Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso are both linked to Barcelona. Chelsea has its own potential starting XI situation going on.

The starting midfield contains all players from last season. Sergio Busquets will team up with the Spanish phenoms Gavi and Pedri. An argument could be made for new signing from AC Milan Franck Kessié to challenge for a starting spot over the ageing Busquets. The one big rumor floating around is if Barcelona can snag Bernardo Silva from Manchester City.

Up top is where a fan could go to town with the variations. Lewandowski is set to light LaLiga up, but the question will be who joins him in the attack?

Will the established Barcelona players keep their spots or will the newcomers like Raphinha get the gig? Barcelona splashed the cash on Raphinha for a reported $66.8 million so clearly the club sees something in the Brazilian. Finishing the attacking trident is hopefully a healthy Ansu Fati who had his last season cut to just 13 appearances due to a hamstring injury.

The depth of this Barcelona roster is insane. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Memphis Depay, Ferran Torres and many more haven’t even been mentioned yet. It will be interesting to see if Aubameyang and Lewandowski will compete for a spot or be used together as a strike partnership.

If Xavi doesn’t want to send out the potential starting XI listed above, then here’s an alternative he could go with that includes Azpilicueta and Koundé.
