Paul Pogba to MLS!? Reports say Frenchman could play in United States next season

Paul Pogba MLS rumors are spreading after a report from Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport stated the Frenchman could terminate his contract with Juventus and eye up a move to the United States.

On Friday the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) made the shocking announcement that Pogba’s 4-year doping suspension had been reduced to 18 months. The ban began in Sept. 2023 meaning Pogba will be eligible to play in March 2025.

It was initially believed that Pogba would return to Juventus as his contract with the Italian club runs until June 2026. Now it’s being reported that the two parties could part ways with Pogba looking for a new start in the United States.

“On paper, from January he could start working at Continassa (Juve’s training ground) again and from March he could return to the field and to his pre-disqualification salary. But it won't happen with Juventus,” La Gazzetta dello Sport said.

“It is more likely that Pogba will leave for the USA, where he has often been in recent times.”

Paul Pogba MLS rumors

Pogba coming to MLS would make total sense from a season perspective. The 31-year-old can begin training with a club in January and return to action in March. That perfectly lines up with Major League Soccer’s schedule with the season typically beginning in late February and early March.

If Pogba were to join a club in Europe next March, he’d only have a couple months to play before the season ended.

Pogba has been spotted State-side multiple times in the past year including at Inter Miami games.

If he were to join an MLS team the Les Bleus star would be following in the footsteps of former national team compatriots Hugo Lloris and Olivier Giroud who both joined LAFC in the last year.
