Rangers' Rise Will Make Old Firm A Lot More Difficult For Celtic

Rangers have

Scottish football is finally becoming a lot more competitive again. When Rangers went into Administration and eventually dropped into the lower leagues, Celtic had years to dominate the SPL. And that’s what the Hoops did: winning every league title possible since Rangers were relegated. But this season is different. Steven Gerrard has truly revived Rangers, bringing in smart signings from Liverpool and other English teams. Jermaine Defoe is a welcome goalscorer and Ryan Kent is a presence in the center of the park. Celtic will not have it so easy this season, as Rangers look hungry to win the title.

Celtic travels just a few miles to Ibrox for an afternoon kickoff on Sunday. It’s not often that you see Rangers and Celtic play in the league so early in the season, but no matter what, the result of Sunday’s Old Firm Derby will be a reality check for either side.

The derby will certainly be full of entertainment. Last season, Ryan Kent punched Scott Brown in the face on the pitch, and there's no doubt that Scott Brown will not have forgotten that. If you plan on betting in the Old Firm derby, make some easy money and bet on Scott Brown getting a yellow card. Behind the scenes, Neil Lennon has come under fire from Celtic fans due to the Hoops’ loss to Cluj in the Champions League qualifiers, dooming the club to Europa League. A win at the Ibrox could take some of the pressure off of Lennon, who recently returned to the club after Brendan rodgers left for Leicester.

A win tomorrow for either Celtic or Rangers will take the clubs 3 points above the other at the top of the table.
