It appears as though scoring two goals to knock Liverpool out of the Champions League was not enough for Marcos Llorente. The Atlético Madrid striker had to add insult to injury.
Llorente recently posted a picture to his Instagram stories of one of his pugs, which it looks as though he has renamed Anfield after the site of his destruction of Liverpudlian hopes of a repeat European championship.
We can’t confirm for sure that Llorente named his dog Anfield. The text translates to “Anfield watching life go by.” It seems he’s had this pug (and another) for years. He’s just a pug-loving kind of guy.
As weird as it is, it does appear as though Llorente renamed his dog Anfield.
That or he’s going stir crazy on Day 22 of self-isolation.
A quick glance at Llorente’s Instagram page shows a long history of him posting pics of his pups, of which he has at least two pugs he’s owned since before playing Liverpool. They appear to be named Keidi and Marqués.
Pretty much every other photo Llorente posts is of him and one of his doggos or girlfriends, usually with his shirt off (who can blame him with that body?). In fact, he made nearly identical posts of his pup Keidi about 10 months apart in 2016.
The earliest Llorente dog photo we could find of a pug was back in October of 2015 of a smol Keidi. Back then, Llorente was just breaking into the Real Madrid first team.
Here are some more Llorente dog pics because why not?

This guy really loves his dogs.
Despite Llorente’s apparent love for pugs, it appears his family owned big huskies when he was growing up.
Alas, we all long for a day in which we discuss Llorente’s on-field performances and not his dog. The sooner we come together to eradicate COVID-19, the sooner we can get out of isolation and doing whatever Llorente and his girlfriend are doing here.
