Two English Legends Are Choosing The Greatest Amateur Goals Of 2015

Gary Neville and Jamie Redknapp have one of the greatest jobs in the world. They get to watch, commentate, and debate on soccer.

For them, the game that they love is the gift that keeps on giving. They both had successful careers as players, they are now employed as pundits, and they might even try their hand at coaching if the opportunity arises.

If they do decide to pursue the life of a manager, they will have to hone their eye for talent, and I think that that is the real reason that they have been participating in the Budweiser Dream Goal competition as judges.

In the competition, the best amateur goals from around England — aka Sunday League goals — are sent in to Sky Sports, and the aforementioned Neville and Redknapp judge which ones are the best.

The sheer number of submissions has obviously made up for the lack of quality found in amateur leagues, because these goals are absolutely amazing. As ex-professionals, of course, Neville and Redknapp can’t help but break down in laughter at some of the submissions, as exceptional as they may be.

In the end, they do go through what seems like a logical process as they pick which goals are better than others, but let’s be honest, logic is not why this video is so much fun to watch.

Prepare to see men who may or may not be in worse shape than your or I pull off goals that you and I have never come close to scoring. It’s bittersweet, really.
