Mexico Lose U-17 World Cup Semifinal In Crazy Game With Nigeria

Mexico's run in the U-17 World Cup came to an end Thursday in a 4-2 loss to NIgeria in a game that mayy would describe as a thriller (we would describe it like this, for example).

The U-17s got off to a near-perfect start when Kevin Magaña put El Tri ahead in the seventh minute.

But Nigeria came roaring back with a free kick to tie it up at 1-1 in the 35th minute.

Then Nigeria took the lead on this ridiculous shot from Orji Okonkwo in thr 43rd minute.

Not to be outdone, Diego Cortes took on six defenders, beat six and evened the game at two in the 59th minute.

Nigeria's Osinachi Ebere followed gave the Super Eagles the lead for good in the 67th minute.

Victor Osimhen finished the game off with a penalty for Nigeria in the 83rd minute, his ninth goal of the tournament.
