This is Mbappé’s third goal the Galacticos in a final, with the Frenchman scoring in the UEFA Super Cup final and FIFA Intercontinental Cup final earlier this season.
However, Barcelona responded swiftly, with 17-year-old wonderkid Lamine Yamal, who has been on a tear this season, pulling off an extraordinary solo goal of his own to bring the game level at 1-1. The match then turned in Barcelona's favor in the 34th minute. With the first half nearing its conclusion, Barcelona struck again. Alejandro Balde, after a lightning-quick counter-attack, found himself in space on the left flank. The young left-back, with a composed low strike, beat Courtois to make it 4-1 just seconds before the halftime whistle.

The second half began much like the first, with Barcelona continuing to assert their utter dominance. Raphinha grabbed his second of the night after a swift counter-attack left the Madrid defense scrambling. The Brazilian spun away from a couple of defenders and calmly finished past Courtois to make it 5-1. Barcelona were in total control.

Madrid, however, would find a glimmer of hope in the 56th minute when disaster struck for Barça. Wojciech Szczęsny, who had been solid all game, was sent off for a last-man challenge on Mbappé just outside the box, leaving Barcelona with 10 men. From the resulting free kick, Rodrygo took full advantage, curling a beautiful shot around the wall and into the top corner to reduce the deficit to 5-2.

Despite the numerical advantage and a late surge from Madrid, Barcelona held firm and saw out the game to claim a resounding victory. It was a historic win for Hansi Flick’s men, one that will surely go down as one of their most memorable El Clásico victories in recent years.
